To what extent can architecture influence the life of the human being and transmit positive sensations?
Our environment is made up of innumerable tangible and intangible factors, which influence our behavior, state or mood. Since the beginning of my undergraduate studies I have been able to realize how architecture influences human life, just as architects have the power to create different environments, generate stimuli and sensations. At the same time, human needs are satisfied, welcoming us and providing us with an experiential experience.
From this, I understand that the human figure is essential to design, from knowing about its ergonomics to trying to interpret what changes can occur, when modifying some element already determined. All architecture seeks to satisfy a physiological and psychological need in fusion between the human being and architecture.
Consequently, the unknown arises:
HOW FAR CAN ARCHITECTURE INFLUENCE THE LIFE OF HUMAN BEINGS, AND HOW CAN IT TRANSMIT OR GENERATE SOMETHING POSITIVE?
Architectural experiences should not be limited to simple technical functionalism or object which provides a form, it is necessary to take into account their sense of belonging and identity, so as not to abandon the human origin that each architectural scenario pursues.
It is interesting how people can act differently depending on the areas in which they are within a space, their behavior can be determined by what they perceive there and that this in one way or another generates changes and behavioral reactions to being human.
This is why I have generated the curiosity to understand how a disposition can be stimulated in people through space, determining various norms and independences, which lead spaces to suggest reactions and moods in individuals through provoked sensations. for the environment. Likewise, it captures my attention how the interactions that take place within each architectural setting and how, through compositional elements, such as material, lighting, components and spatial arrangements, can regulate people to feel more complacent inside a building.
Architecture has the unique aptitude of being able to have a direct effect on the way people feel within a space. In general, for example, this idea is not so evident in the design of health spaces, since medical care spaces are framed by the prototype of buildings with more physical influence than emotional sensitivity.
Refuting this idea, it is postulated that healthy spaces are spaces that must balance the functional needs of physical healing with the spiritual and emotional sensitivities of mental well-being and the general healing process. That is, through architectural quality we can transmit sensations, improvements, states of well-being in a positive way in the human being.
